Comment on "Guns=Bad News Bears"

My comment is for “Deep in the Heart of Texas” said that conceal handguns should not be allowed on university campuses because it might cause a greater problem. I agree with Samantha Johnson that students should not allow to bring a conceal handgun into universities. Indeed, it is very danger to carry any weapon in the classes. For example, if you know somebody in your class carrying a gun or knife, do you think that it could affect your education? You don’t know what will happen if he pulls out a gun and starts shooting at students or teachers because of a bad grade or depression. You may end up in a situation where people are pointing their guns at each other without knowing who the shooter was. However, what if somebody illegally carry a gun and enter your class and start shooting at you, what is your response? Do you wish to have a gun in your hands to protect yourself or wait until the police come and save you? That’s why I have a little disagree about not carrying guns on campuses. Nonetheless, without a weapon is still better then to have a weapon. So it won’t distract your learning when you know that you are safe and nobody around you carries a weapon.

We are heading in the right direction

My comments about Texas government is that I understand that many teachers have been fired in Texas. Most of them were teaching at elementary schools. Many people think that it is a bad policy to eliminate thousands of teaching jobs in Texas, and parents don’t want their kids schools have to be closed. However, I think this is the alternate policy we have right now if we want to save our state budget. Therefore, I totally agree and support this policy. The last few years, our spending on building better roads, higher education and criminal issues were tremendous high that we have lost too much money to spend other projects and create more jobs. I know it is hard for them to accept being fired in this difficult period of time. Nonetheless, we have to see our community as a whole. The State of Texas percentage of unemployment is about 8.3 percent right now. It still seems very high compare to the unemployment rate from 2000 to 2007. I would rather lose a few jobs to create more jobs for our community than keeping these few jobs to lose more jobs. This plan also might hurt a lot of people who are choosing to become a teacher. This incident might affect whether they want to become a teacher or not because it is a difficult time for teachers to find a solid and stable career for the rest of their lives. I’m still remembering when the president Obama stepped on front of the legislature and said that our country needs more teachers, and the next day, all we heard were that teachers were being fired across the State of Texas. Texas is very conservative. Cutting education is the best of all the spending cuts. As a result, everyone who live in Texas should accept this policy and live with it. We are heading in the right direction and this policy is one of the policies that could create more jobs and keep our State less debts.
