Arizona immigration law is not right for Texas

Arizona’s law is not right for Texas. I am so glad and proud that our governor Rick Perry finally announced that Arizona’s law will not be the right direction for Texas. I certainly agree with him. Rick Perry might be the best governor in the US right now if you ask me. Arizona’s law considers unconstitutional. I think it against what our founding father have said many years ago, “All men created are equal.” Of course, illegal immigrations are bad for Texas or the US; however, it could improve our economy. Many people think that the illegal immigrants are taking our jobs away and tearing our economy apart but it’s not. These people whether are working in the construction or in the restaurant with very a low payment, and there aren’t many Americans who want these jobs anyway; therefore, we can’t conclude that these illegal immigrants take our jobs away. In addition, the fact is that illegal immigrations will make our economy much better because the more people come to our country or our state, the more people will buy our stuffs. We will have many people buying our products; therefore, we will have to need more workers to manufacture more products. As a result, it could lead to increase jobs in our state. Sometime, I might think illegal immigrations are a good thing because these people are desperate, poor and grief. They want to have a normal just like us. We would do the same thing if we were them. For me, when Arizona passed the law, I was thinking that their government is just a group of racism, prejudice, brutal and heartless. They only think for themselves but not the people of their state. So, when the same law came to Texas, I thought that Texas would end up just like Arizona; nonetheless, I am so proud and joyful when our great governor Rick Perry opposed the law and said that the law would not be the right direction for Texas.

  1. Although I agree that Arizona's immigration law is not right for Texas or any other state -- including Arizona -- but unfortunately I am very much opposed to your rhetoric and thoughts about Rick Perry. Before I get into why Rick Perry is just a poppet who only plays with words ( just like any other republican politician ) I would like to take an issue about a point you are making about illegal immigrants. You said that the "fact is that illegal immigrations will make our economy much better". This is not a fact, it is up for a debate among economists but let me remind you that native low-skilled workers suffer most from the competition of foreign labor. Also, let’s not forget that state governments need to provide services and benefits to these illegal immigrants. According to a study by George Borjas, a Harvard economist, immigration reduced the wages of American high-school dropouts by 9 percent between 1980 and 2000. A very important problem we are facing today in Texas is budget shortfall greatly because of population growth and having more people using public services certainly doesn’t help at all.

Now back to your Rick Perry comments. Rick Perry is trying to avoid the immigration problem by being coy, but the teabaggers aren't going to let him. Texas has adopted get-tough policy on immigration and bilingual education that some say will make it hard for the Republican Party to attract Hispanic voters at a time when the Texas population is turning increasingly Latino. This platform, supported by your beloved governor Rick Perry, encourages state lawmakers to create a Class A misdemeanor criminal offense “for an illegal alien to intentionally or knowingly be within the State of Texas,” and to “oppose amnesty in any form leading to citizenship for illegal immigrants.” Also, Texas republicans under the leadership of "the best governor in the US" (according to you) want to limit citizenship by birth to those born to a U.S. citizen with no exceptions. This is unconstitutional and just absurd. Hopefully, this incompetent governor full of corruption and lies will leave office in couple of years and end this disgraceful period of time in our history.
